It started with a camera.
And a love of flowers.

I’m Megan, a photographer with a soft spot for pretty colors, beautiful flowers, and the kind of places that make you want to stop and take a picture. For years, I dreamed of having flower fields of my own—a place where I could grow the beauty I loved photographing.

Three years ago, we bought overgrown land on the side of a mountain in Whitesburg, Tennessee. Then came a tractor. What started as a dream of pretty flower fields somehow spiraled into seed packets, garden beds, and a growing love of cut flowers. One thing led to another, and Mountain Side Blooms began to take root.

We’re still in the early stages of building our flower farm and garden, with the goal of providing locally grown cut flowers for our community. There’s a lot to learn and plenty of hard work ahead, but watching this land slowly become what we imagined has been such a joy.

Just as meaningful is getting to share the journey with our daughter. I want her to learn how things grow, understand agriculture, and see the care and hard work behind every bloom. My hope is that she grows up knowing the pride of creating something with her own hands—and that beautiful things take patience, effort, and a little dirt.
